Attention all community members of North Spirit Lake First Nation! Today, we have an important message for you. As you may have heard, there will be an internet outage starting at 11am and lasting until approximately 4pm. This may seem like a minor inconvenience, but the implications of this outage extend far beyond just a few hours of lost connectivity.

First and foremost, we want to assure you that the nursing station will still have internet access during this time. This is thanks to the KNET redundancy program, which provides a backup connection in case of emergencies such as this one. KO and KNET understand the importance of having reliable internet access in remote communities, especially for essential services like healthcare. Rest assured, the nursing station will continue to operate smoothly and provide the best care for our community.

However, it’s important to note that the outage may affect other services within the community. For instance, IP phones at the nursing station may experience disruptions and may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and want to let you know that our dedicated Community CTC representative, Kristin Kakekagumick, will still be available in the office today. She will be working diligently to ensure that everything runs smoothly and to handle any issues that may arise. Please do not hesitate to reach out to her with any concerns or questions.
